BA10 : driving while disqualified by order of court

What it means
BA10 is the endorsement system biting its own tail: driving while a court's disqualification runs, s. 103 RTA 1988. The flat 6 points matter only where the court does not disqualify afresh, and they land on a record that usually still carries the points behind the original ban, so the arithmetic restarts high. The one thing the code cannot record is why the ban existed, which is why two BA10s can describe very different drivers.
Points and how long it stays

On the licence for 4 years from the date of the offence.
BA is the smallest family with the widest spread. BA10 and BA30, driving or attempting to drive while disqualified, s. 103 RTA 1988, carry a flat 6 on the 4-year offence clock and are summary matters with custody available. BA40 and BA60, causing death or serious injury by driving while disqualified, s. 3ZC and s. 3ZD RTA 1988, came in 2015, carry 3 to 11 points, and their 4-year clock runs from conviction instead. No code here has a fixed penalty route: a disqualified driver at the wheel is charged, not ticketed.
