MW10 : contravention of special roads regulations (excluding speed limits)

What it means
MW10 is everything the motorway forbids except speed: reversing, turning across the reservation, driving on the hard shoulder without need, prohibited vehicles and pedestrians on the carriageway, all under the special roads regulations of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Speed has its own code, SP50, which is why this one reads excluding speed limits. The flat 3 covers a family of sins the ordinary road cannot even commit.

The usual route
A police stop typically ends in an endorsable fixed penalty carrying the flat 3 points (gov.uk, checked 2026-07-22); there is no routine camera version of this code.
