BA60 : causing serious injury by driving while disqualified

What it means
BA60 is BA40's sibling for serious injury, s. 3ZD RTA 1988, from the same 2015 reform. It shares the conviction-started 4-year clock and the 3 to 11 range, and the same inversion: the points are the register's afterthought on a case built around custody. For the record's reader the pairing matters, because a BA60 always implies an earlier disqualification that was still running when the injury happened.

BA is the smallest family with the widest spread. BA10 and BA30, driving or attempting to drive while disqualified, s. 103 RTA 1988, carry a flat 6 on the 4-year offence clock and are summary matters with custody available. BA40 and BA60, causing death or serious injury by driving while disqualified, s. 3ZC and s. 3ZD RTA 1988, came in 2015, carry 3 to 11 points, and their 4-year clock runs from conviction instead. No code here has a fixed penalty route: a disqualified driver at the wheel is charged, not ticketed.
